Felix Da Housecat is still not happy he got denied from infamous Berlin techno club Berghain Friday night, Feb. 20. The Chicago house legend took to Twitter to express his frustrations about the incident right after calling them, among other things, "Racist c***s" and decrying them for ignoring those who helped build the genre that provides the soundtrack to their hedonistic nights.
It may be hard to believe that someone who has been one of the icons of house music for 28 years would be denied at a club, but one of Berghain's distinguishing features is its incredibly strict door. This means even DJs who have been playing clubs all over the world for 28 years sometimes cannot get in. Those are the breaks.
He probably should have contacted the DJ who was spinning that night and seen if he could have walked in as a member of his entourage, if possible. Read Felix's original stream of tweets that have since been deleted here.
It was hypothesized that the original stream of tweets were a stream of consciousness fueled by anger and alcohol. Felix Da Housecat clarified his motivation behind the tweets and stood by what he said the night before on Twitter, via The Fader.
Woke up this morning ... Have no regrets my mgmt took down tweets! I stand by every word thee truth hurts but it is what it is!!!
