Anna Wintour Wants Kate Middleton to Grace the Cover of 'Vogue'

Anna Wintour has been at the helm of Vogue for so long that you would think that doing her job would be second nature and come easily. Instead, in actuality the fashion guru is left with the tough task of putting together a publication that makes readers continue to buy it from the newsstand rather than just benefit from the perks of this being a digital age. She also has to keep things modern without appearing to "sell out" to Vogue's older subscribers. She is pushing hard to convince Kate Middleton to grace the cover of the coveted September issue, but it looks like Wintour has her work cut out for her in convincing the duchess to actually do it.

According to a report by Radar Online, this is not the first time Wintour has made an offer to Middleton.

"Anna knows landing Kate for the September issue would be a huge coup, especially since Prince William's wife has never done a magazine feature for a U.S. publication. The focus of Kate's feature would be her numerous charity endeavors, which Anna has conveyed to Kate's staff. Since Anna is British, she feels a kinship with Kate and has promised she would have full control over the accompanying photo shoot. Kate could choose the photographer, journalist and location for the piece. Anna has been trying for the last two years to get Kate to agree and she's always refused," said the source.

Wintour has been catching extra heat ever since she decided to put Kim Kardashian on the April 2014 cover with Kanye West and their daughter North West. Fashion insiders strongly felt that the reality star who shot to fame because of a sex tape is not Vogue-worthy and the issue itself absolutely bombed, selling only about 30,000 copies.

In the months that have followed, Kardashian's naked photos and seeming use of her daughter as an inconvenient accessory at New York Fashion Week have only made the Vogue editor regret doing that cover even more.

Wintour is absolutely right in thinking that putting Middleton on the cover would help restore her credibility, and who wouldn't want to see the princess on the cover? The question is whether or not the royal will agree to be photographed. Do you think it will be of interest to her this time around? Tell us your thoughts in the comments section below.
