Kanye West raps about Michael Jordan at his Chicago show [WATCH]

Kanye West played his homecoming show in Chicago Wednesday on his Yeezus tour. Adding to the theatrics of the night, West paid tribute to the city's basketball hero, Michael Jordan, with a new song. The bit was captured on video by a fan, and in it West sang on repeat over barebones piano, "We should have never, ever let Michael Jordan play for the Wizards ... how could that happen?"

As Rolling Stones notes, Jordan played for the Washington Wizards from 2001-2003. West cited the six championships Jordan won the Bulls during his stints between 1991-1998, which he called "the best years of our life." He said he wanted to be "just like Michael" and even referenced Space Jam's signature track "I Believe I Can Fly," by R. Kelly.

He couldn't believe the owners had the audacity to have Jordan's statue "in front of the motherf**king building" but wouldn't allow Jordan to have equity in the team. He called Jordan "a player that's done more for the league than the league could have done for him" and celebrating him as one of the "most important people in our civilization," among other rants. No one celebrates entertainers as geniuses and revolutionaries more than West, that's for sure.
