On March 8 it will be exactly one year since Malaysia Flight 370 disappeared from the radar around one hour into a very routine flight from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing and investigators still have absolutely no idea what happened to it. While various theories have existed with minimal evidence, the thing that we do know is that 12 crew members and 227 passengers have never been heard from again. The Malaysian government has done a horrendous job of gathering credible information and it seems that for months, searchers wasted time looking in the wrong area all together. While many of the theories that have circulated seem to border on science fiction, the reality is that nothing logical has really made sense.
CNN aviation expert, Jeff Wise, believes that there's a chance that MH370 actually flew in the opposite direction that investigators have said and was landed somewhere in Kazakhstan. According to a report by The Malaysian Insider, Wise "said the plane was possibly hijacked by perpetrators, who could have accessed the flight controls and flew the plane to Baikonur Cosmodrome, which is leased from Kazakhstan by Russia. Wise said his theory was established upon satellite transmissions and "pings" that the plane fed off seven hours after it was missing. Those transmissions were recorded by British company, Inmarsat, whose raw data was then released by Malaysian officials in late May 2014." explained the insider.
Why Putin would want the plane remains an absolute mystery but then, this entire case has been exactly that from the moment the flight fell out of contact. Another theory is that the Malaysian government shot flight MH370 down themselves either by mistake or because of a threat on board but then they've never wanted to actually take the blame publicly. Instead, they declared it officially lost and have been less than helpful in trying to actually locate it.
What do you think actually happened to this plane and the nearly 240 people on board? Will the truth ever be revealed? Tell us your thoughts in the comments below!
