It may not be a festival that gathers all of the headlines, but Houston's Free Press Summer Festival has announced its 2015 lineup and it is a big one. Headlined by Skrillex, R. Kelly, Weezer, Steve Angello, St. Vincent, Major Lazer and many others, FPSF did not hold back with its bookings for this summer.
Houston may not be the most hospitable place in June, but with this lineup, it may worth it to make the trip to the festival. In addition to the aforementioned headliners, they will be joined by Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals, The Decemberists, Flume, Belle & Sebastian, Mastodon, Chance The Rapper, a blast from the past, Tears For Fears, Band Of Horses and Charli XCX.
The two-day Festival takes place in Houston, Texas on June 6 and 7. It has a nice balance of many different genres with a wide range of electronic, indie, hip-hop and rock acts that give the festival a nice balance. It isn't just top-heavy as well with up-and-coming acts well represented on the bill. In total there are over 100 acts who will be performing over the two days, making it difficult to choose which acts to see when.
Entering its sixth year, after a 2009 debut, the festival has gotten bigger each year. The lineup has grown in size with additions like The Flaming Lips, The Avett Brothers, Chromeo, Willie Nelson, Pretty Lights, Snoop Dogg, Young The Giant, Calvin Harris, Alabama Shakes, Passion Pit, Jack White, Wu-Tang Clan and many others.
