Saturday, Feb. 28, was not a good day for crime in Charlotte, North Carolina. Just a few hours after two individuals were shot at a concert hosted by T.I., Jeezy and Yo Gotti for CIAA weekend at the nightclub Label, Nicki Minaj and Meek Mill had their own party and, according to local reports, two people were reportedly stabbed, with one currently in serious condition.
According to the Charlotte Observer, which cited an after-action report compiled by the city of Charlotte, police responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call at the Oasis Tent.
According to local TV station WSOC-TV, the police arrived at around 1:30 a.m. and transported two individuals to Carolinas Medical Center. One had life-threatening injuries and one had potentially life-threatening injuries.
According to various accounts on social media and in the hip-hop press, the show seems to have gone off just fine. The knife fight may have occurred far away from the action and remained hidden from the artists and attendees.
Nicki Minaj showed her love for North Carolina on social media as she brought out Dej Loaf as a surprise special guest during the show.
The stabbing was the second major incident on Saturday during CIAA weekend. Two people were shot during a daytime concert hosted by T.I., Jeezy and Yo Gotti. A woman was transported to a local hostpital and a second drove themselves to the hospital under their own power.
Beyond this incident, Nicki Minaj is prepping to embark on her Pinkprint tour, which will take her all over the world in 2015. Meek Mill will join her for some of the announced dates. See the details here.
