Last night Justin Bieber took to Twitter to announce he is "officially retiring."
But an hour later, he posted, "The Media talks a lot about me. They make a [sic] up a lot of lies and want me to fail but I'm never leaving you, being a belieber is a lifestyle."
So, we're confused here. He is the one who tweeted that he was retiring, but now he's maybe saying that it the media is making it up? All this is ironic with his movie called Believe coming out today. To add to the confusion, a few minutes after he posted his condemnation of the media, he posted, "Be kind loving to each other, forgive each other as god forgave us through Christ Merry Christmas IM HERE FOREVER." But are you, Justin!?
This isn't the first hint that the popstar might be retiring. He spoke to Los Angeles' Power 106 last week saying, "The new album... I'm actually retiring. I'm retiring man. I'm just gonna take some time. I think I'm probably going to quit music." But that statement seemed spoken in jest, so we didn't take it too seriously.
At this point, we are assuming he probably isn't retiring, but he sure knows how to get a rise out of his fans. His "retiring" tweet was retweeted 260,000 times and favorited 199,298 times with his "media" tweet getting 159,836 retweets and 132, 931 favorites.
Justin did retweet a fan who said that the "Believe movie is gonna clear up all the rumors." So we'll see if the Biebs really calls it quits. Maybe it was all a ploy to get people talking about him before his movie came out. What are you going to belieb?
