Robert Plant: Led Zeppelin
In addition to the Zeppelin cut, the special EP will feature live versions of "Turn It Up," "Arabaden" and "Poor Howard." The release will be limited to 10,000 copies.
Plant's Ceaseless Roar was the singer's follow-up to 2010's Band of Joy LP. The record made it to No. 10 on the Billboard 200 behind singles like "Rainbow" and "Pocket Full of Golden." Rolling Stone gave the album three stars out of five.
"His latest returns to the world-music fusion of 2005's Mighty ReArranger with his Strange Sensation band (now reconfigured as the Sensational Space Shifters). It lacks the focused grace of his country experiments, but this much is true: It's Plant's hardest-rocking set in a decade. And it makes you wonder," RS wrote.
Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl was recently named the 2015 Record Stord Day ambassador. His band will also release a four-song EP: Songs from the Laundry Room. The effort will feature unreleased demos and covers by the band. Grohl himself wrote a letter to share his thoughts on the vinyl artifact.
"More recently, I've been fortunate enough to have the opportunity to rediscover this sense of excitement, that magical feeling of finding something all one's own, by watching my kids go through it. Watching them realize how crucial and intertwined every part of this experience is, I relive the magic of my earliest experiences with vinyl singles and albums, their artwork, liners notes etc. all over again and again," he wrote.
