Tink Shares New Songs "Ratchet Commandments" And "Ran Up A Check" Ahead Of Debut Album [LISTEN]

Tink is making her way into the hip-hop big leagues. She recently gave her first big interview and covered The Fader following the following the buzz her producer/mentor Timbaland created when he leaked a few of her records to The Breakfast Club and championed her as the next iconic femcee. All eyes are on this young Chicago rapper as she preps her debut album. Now she's given us a taste with her highly anticipated single "Ratchet Commandments."

The track sees her follow in the vein of Biggie's "Ten Crack Commandments," as she provides a step-by-step guide to being ratchet.

"I've done been at this thing for years," she raps. "It's done turned me to an animal / Some of y'all ratchet / I'mma write you hoes a manual."

Tink goes on to call out girls who are obsessed with posting photos to Instagram, stealing other women's boyfriends, trusting players, and spending money they don't have. She even does a little bit of slut-shaming (for which she's been criticized) with lines like "If you know your p*ssy loose, you're a ho so do better."

Interestingly, Tink is a self-proclaimed feminist, despite those slut-shaming lines. In her Fader interview she said the music industry's double standard is the driving force behind why she identifies as one.

"I'm definitely a feminist. The industry made me that way," she told them. "I had to grind so hard to be taken seriously, had to work twice as hard to get here. Having to deal with social media is both good and bad. I'm brown, I don't have a big ass, my lips are full. I'm not the ideal pop star, not what you see on TV. I look like I could be your best friend. I would rather impress you with my storytelling than with the size of my waist and my hips."

Slut-shaming aside, the song has some serious flow and attitude. Check it out below:

Prior to releasing "Ratchet Commandments," Tink teamed up with Rich the Kid for "Ran Up A Check," which will appear on the DJ Honorz-hosted mixtape Boss Sh*t Only 2. The song sees Tink pretending to love someone for his money.
