Kanye West: All Day
He said the video would be different from his BRIT Awards performance, which featured West in a black hoodie, backed by a mob of people also dressed in black with flames spurting from blowtorches around them.
"I was sitting with Steve McQueen; he shot the visuals for 'All Day' two days ago. It's completely different to the Brit Awards," he said while delivering an anecdote about a conversation with the director in which West compared The Matrix to the Bible.
This won't be the first time McQueen and West have collaborated. The director also created the visuals for the 2013 VMA performance of his Yeezus cut "Blood On The Leaves."
In January 2014, Interview Magazine published an interview between McQueen and West that covered a wide range of topics including his then-new album Yeezus, the Grammys (a talking point that continues to this day), the video for "Bound 2," how West's 2002 car wreck affected his life view, his parents' influence on him, fatherhood, how he deals with haters, how he approaches visuals and much more.
West's interviews as of late have been much more self-aware, as was his Oxford lecture.
"And if I, Kanye West, can remove my ego, I think there's hope for everyone," he added during the talk while referring to his ego as his "Achilles' heel."
In addition to "All Day," Kanye West has also previously released the songs "Only One," "FourFiveSeconds," and "Wolves." No album release date has been set, though he told Zane Lowe last week that he is hard at work finishing it while noting to The Breakfast Club last month that it was 80 percent finished.
In the meantime, be on the look out for that McQueen-directed "All Day" video.
