Alt-rocker Beck has entered battle with Inglorious Bastered actor Til Schweiger, who played Sgt. Hugo Stiglitz in the film and is one of the top filmmakers in Germany.
According to gossip site TMZ, Schweiger claims that Beck destroyed his Malibu rental property. He had been renting it to the rocker for $11,000 per month from 2010 until February of this year.
According to the article, both men agree that the mansion was in poor condition upon Beck's departure, but each man says it is the other's fault. Beck claims that the problems were already there when he moved in, including mold, plumbing and electrical issues which further damaged appliances such as the fridge, the washing machine and his laptop. Schweiger, on the other hand, says that Beck commissioned a variety of unauthorized work on the house while he lived there, which caused "substantial physical damage," requiring $40,571 in repairs.
So now Beck is suing Schweiger for not returning his $11,000 security deposit and Schweiger is counter-suing Beck for damages plus unpaid back rent totally $56,704.24.
Hopefully Schweiger doesn't pull a Stiglitz on Beck. But we'll keep you updated on how this rich-man-suing-rich-man drama end up.
