The Band Perry are hard at work on the their third studio album, which follows up their 2013 effort Pioneer. This time around, they are taking a page from Taylor Swift's book and looking to the world of pop for inspiration. In an new interview with CMT's Cody Alan, the country trio revealed that they've been working with hit producer Pharrell Williams on new music.
"We're being really crazy about the different collaborations that we're diving into," Kimberly Perry said. "We got to hang out with Pharrell a couple weeks ago. He's like a huge country music fan, and he also really loves what we do with harmony. One thing that we worked on with him was this song where all three of us sing different interwoven vocals on the verse and on the chorus."
The band spoke with Radio.com last year about what fans can expect on their new album, which Kimberly says will be "very spirited."
"As opposed to Pioneer, which is all about being the underdog and rising above circumstance, this album has a lot more of a fun atmosphere around it," Reid Perry added. "When it even comes to the songs that we're choosing to start working on, it's all about, 'How does it make us feel?' If it makes us feel good and if has a fun vibe about it, that is the path that we are walking down.'
Pioneer spawned the singles "Better Dig Two," "Chainsaw," "Don't Let Me Be Lonely," and "DONE."
New music form the band should be coming this year. Well keep you updated as more details on the album become available.
