Prince is no stranger to surprise shows. Last year he played a serious of spontaneous sets across the UK and Europe as well as one-offs at his Paisley Park home studio. Now he's announced plans for a jaunt across the United Sates, aptly titled the Hit & Run Tour, Billboard reports.
The first date is slated for March 14 in Louisville, Kentucky (3rdEyeGirl drummer Hannah Welton's hometown). The venue details have not yet been announced, however, tickets go on sale Monday, March 9, at 10 a.m. local time via Live Nation. A portion of the proceeds will benefit local charities.
No other cities have been announced yet, but expect all information to be given last minute. He could show up in your city at any time, so keep your eyes on Twitter. He used the social media platform to announce his Hit & Run dates overseas, so it's likely might reactivate his social media accounts do the same stateside.
Prince's recently performed at SNL 40's after party, where he jammed with the likes of Taylor Swift, Paul McCartney, and more. He also made headlines when he introduced Album of the Year Grammy winner, Beck, by saying that "albums, like books and black lives, still matter."
Back in January, Prince dropped a trippy video for his track "Marz" off one of his most recent albums, Plectrumelectrum, which he released last year with his band 3rdEyeGirl along with his solo album Art Official Age.
In related news, Prince is rumored to have contributed a song to Rihanna's upcoming eighth studio album. The song has yet to surface, however, the Barbadian singer did tease a new song "Higher" from the effort along with snippets of songs for the Home soundtrack and March Madness trailer.
