It was only two years ago that Justin Bieber, then 16 years old, shared his life with fans in Never Say Never on the big screen. Bieber's mother, Pattie Mallette, took time out to talk to MTV News during the Believe premiere about how their lives have changed since her son's ascent to stardom.
"It's really fun watching him grow and transition," she told them. "It's just been this crazy whirlwind, and I'm just along for the ride." Bieber interrupted the interview briefly to gush about his mother. He gave her a kiss on the cheek and announced, "How beautiful is my mommy?"
Interestingly, Bieber isn't the only one calling Mallette "mommy." She told MTV that her son's fans consider her their mother, too. "There's like 3 million Twitter followers who call me mom."
But the big question she answered during the quick interview was her thoughts on the Bieb's 'stache. "I'm not a big fan," she told them. "I'm hoping he'll grow out of it."
Sadly, Bieber's documentary didn't fare so well in the box office. Compared to Never Say Never, which opened with $29.5 million in first weekend ticket sales, Believe totaled only $4.2 million during its first five days of release.
