Foster the People tease new material in video clip [WATCH]

In celebration of the New Year, Foster the People have released a teaser video for their follow-up to 2011's breakout Torches, which is due out sometime in 2014.

In an interview with Rolling Stone, Mark Foster said that people might be surprised by their sophomore effort. "It'll be interesting," he told them. It's not the record that people are going to expect us to release second. It's definitely an evolution for us, and it's a more polarizing record for us. So I'm excited to see how it's received, for better or worse."

And don't expect another "Pumped Up Kicks" with this album either. "This record, I went into it wanting to do something more organic and human because the first record was so electronic and synthetic — in a cool way, I'm not putting it down, that's just what it was. So this record, I wanted to make something more human and let the songs breathe and grow and turn and take left turns and not come back if they want to. So it's a brave record."

In the 45-second teaser, the band sings of "the coming of age" as images, including scenes from a beach town, the mountains, a coffee shop, etc., flash across the screen. Check out the clip for yourself and let us know what you think in the comments section below.
