Oprah Winfrey, Common To Appear On Fox's 'Empire,' Says Creator Lee Daniels

Speaking to Access Hollywood, Empire creator Lee Daniels revealed that he is writing roles for both Winfrey and Common.

"Yes. Yeah. She's gonna be on it," he said of Winfrey, who previously starred in his film The Butler.

He confirmed Common's role saying, "Oh yeah, for sure. For absolutely sure. We're gonna have a good time," adding, "You hear that first."

Access Hollywood previously spoke with Common about his interest in joining the show if a role was offered to him.

"I see Lee at the gym and they shoot Empire in my hometown of Chicago," he told them. "I would be a part of it if it was something that was the right character. I'm all about being a part of really quality things."
