As she is apt to do in the ARTPOP era, Lady Gaga is firing back at her critics and taking on her detractors. But now, in a slightly bizarre, heartfelt posting on her social media site littlemonsters.com, the "Do What U Want" singer has also gotten a bit emotional while clearing up nasty rumors about the relationship between herself and her label Interscope.
Earlier this winter, it was reported that the relatively paltry sales of Gaga's third studio album ARTPOP cost Interscope over $25 million and that the low-performing album led to several layoffs in the company. That rumor (which originated in an Examiner article that has since been deleted), along with negative feedback from critics led to the emotionally-charged posting.
Gaga also implies that some close friends and business associates have turned on her, possibly hinting at what happened between her and her longtime manager Troy Carter. The two parted ways in November.
"My heart breaks from the people I have trusted and love who I've worked so closely with, who have used me, lied to me, worked me into the ground for the personal gain. When I woke up in the hospital after my surgery there were many people that were not there. My health did not matter. I did not matter unless I could perform. This is a very hard lesson. I have lost love ones to the greed of money. It is not Interscope. They in fact love me very much and will see ARTPOP to the end," she wrote.
Later, Gaga added this, shutting down the $25 million rumor: "There is no truth to many of your comments, including the 25 million dollars deficit. These are rumors that are being repeated and spread. They are completely untrue. There are many things behind the scenes you never see."
She also (once again) took on here critics. Read more of Gaga's posts over at OhNoTheyDidnt.
