Could Britney Spears' new single with Iggy Azalea be coming soon? Just days after Spears revealed that writing and releasing a follow-up to her 2013 album Britney Jean was "not a priority" for her, a new song seems to have been registered under her name, "Pretty Girls." And it was written by none other than X Factor alumnae Little Mix.
"Pretty Girls" is expected to be the next Spears single, Popdust reports. According to a post on the pop music forum ATRL, "Pretty Girls" was penned by the members of Little Mix (Perrie Edwards, Jesy Nelson, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Jade Thirlwall) and Iggy Azalea under her real name Amethyst Amelia Kelly.
It's believed that the song was originally planned for Little Mix's new album, but the girl group decided it wasn't right for them and they offered it to Spears.
The Las Vegas superstar is now taking up the song with Azalea, a collaboration that has been teased for quite some time.
And how do we know this is a new Spears song instead of a Little Mix track? Before departing Twitter for the time being, Azalea dismissed that "Pretty Girls" was a LM song, saying she has not collaborated with the girl group.
The single does not have a release date, though it is expected to drop sometime before the summer.
Despite not focusing on a new album, Spears and her camp are planning on releasing a slew of singles over the next few years, citing albums being less important in the modern age.
