St. Vincent has released the second single off her upcoming, self-titled studio album. Following the single "Birth in Reverse," the new track, "Digital Witness," is an uptempo, brass-infused funk jam. She sings, "People turn the TV on, it looks just like a window."
The 11-song effort hits stores February 25 via her new label Loma Vista/Republic Records. The follow up to 2011's Strange Mercy, Clark recorded the new album in Dallas with Dap-Kings drummer Homer Steinweiss and Midlake percussionist McKenzie Smith. John Congleton (Modest Mouse, the Mountain Goats), who has helmed St. Vincent's Actor and Strange Mercy, will produce the album. "I knew the groove needed to be paramount," she said in the statement. "I wanted to make a party record you could play a funeral."
St. Vincent recently announced an extensive 2014 North American tour in support of the upcoming effort. Check out the new track "Digital Witness" here, and see if she is headed to a city near you. Let us know what you think in the comments section below!
