The Game Announces He Will Release 'The Documentary 2' on the 10th Anniversary of Aftermath Debut Album

Ten years ago, The Game released his debut album The Documentary under Aftermath Entertainment and word on web is he's gearing up to release his sixth album The Documentary 2 in the wake of its 10th anniversary.

According to REVOLT (via Miss Info), the sequel to 2005's The Documentary is slated for a summer release. The album will arrive on June 30.

The Compton rapper, who nudged his way to stardom as Dr. Dre's protégé, also revealed that he originally planned to release the album earlier in his career.

"I feel like I could've released it after The Documentary, but 10 years later seems perfectly fine," Game said. "It's my sixth album, my sixth solo album, and I think that the 10th anniversary is huge. And so why not put it out 10 years later?"

Back in 2012, Game offered up a glimpse of his personal life on his VH1 reality series Marrying the Game. The show starred the rapper, his then fiancee and his children, who have appeared on a couple of his album covers.

Game told REVOLT that the release date of his forthcoming album coincides with the birthday of his oldest son Harlem, who appeared on the original Documentary cover.

"The actual Documentary 2 is going to drop on my son's birthday, June 30, 'cause I think it's big. It's kinda perfect timing," he said.

His daughter Cali was featured on the cover of his latest release, Blood Moon: Year of the Wolf, which was released last October.

During an interview with Los Angeles' Power 106, Game revealed that he is "about 90 percent" done with the album. He has reportedly been in the studio with Kanye West, Timbaland, Swizz Beatz, Just Blaze, and Scott Storch, who all contributed to his 2005 debut.
