'RHOA' Phaedra Parks to File for Divorce From Apollo Nida After Realizing He Wasn't a 'Changed Man'

The season of RHOA currently airing on Bravo has been filled with emotional upheaval for Phaedra Parks. The cameras have rolled as her soon-to-be-ex-husband, Apollo Nida, has intimidated, threatened and lied about her before finally beginning to serve an eight-year prison sentence for fraud. In many scenes you can just feel Parks's fear and discomfort without her needing to verbalize it, and it is a relief to finally arrive at the point where she is ready to file for divorce. In Bravo's preview clip for tonight's new Real Housewives of Atlanta episode March 22, Parks explains she believed Nida was a changed man, which is why she built a life with him.

For those not already familiar, Nida has already served several years behind bars for other financial crimes, and Parks married him pretty quickly upon his release. It seemed like only a matter of months between his release and her marriage to him while already pregnant.

All season long Parks has expressed her shock about his behavior, and we have to admit that the Nida who has appeared onscreen has been pretty creepy and nothing like the respectful guy we thought Parks had married. She has seemed more than a little shell-shocked by the turn her marriage and life has taken, and honestly, who could blame her?

As a parting shot before leaving, Nida told other cast members that his wife had been having an affair. He even presented text messages as supposed proof of the dalliance that Parks to this day denies ever happened. The other ladies and their husbands have seemed pretty equally divided on whether or not Parks was cheating, and it even led to her nearly getting into a fist fight with frenemy Kenya Moore.

Divorcing Nida is probably one of the most positive things Parks can do now, but do you believe she wholeheartedly had thought he was a "changed man"? She is a smart woman, so do you think the RHOA star ever had an inkling her husband was still shady? Tell us your thoughts in the comments section below.
