Legendary mezzo-soprano Marilyn Horne will be honored on her 80th birthday with a song recital at Carnegie Hall, featuring performances by many of her colleagues, on Thursday, January 16 at 7:30 p.m.
Samuel Ramey and Frederica von Stade will host the "Marilyn Horne Song Celebration" in Carnegie's Zankel Hall. The evening's singers include soprano Renée Fleming, vocalist Barbara Cook, mezzo-sopranos Jamie Barton and Isabel Leonard, countertenor David Daniels, tenor Piotr Beczała and many others.
The concert is open to the public, but tickets are going fast. More information is available at carnegiehall.org.
This concert is part of The Song Continues, an annual series of workshops and recitals at Carnegie led by Horne.
