In light of a series of Instagram posts, Dame Dash and Kanye West may have confirmed their purchase of Karmaloop amidst rumors of the acquisition.
The Instagram posts on account @duskopoppington feature Dash and West talking to a camera (Dash doing all the talking) sharing their decision to buy Karmaloop. The third post's caption read,
"Generations of real fighters sticking together for the whole world to see...this was always the plan but shit is real and where not doing any bubble gum shit and I hope the whole world sees this and wants to do the same thing...stay tuned #honaorablepeoplesticktogether #hustleforyourlastnamenotyourfirst"
According to GQ, Karmaloop just recently faced major financial difficulties and sought out investors to bail the company out of debt. Debt obligations reportedly even impacted the company's ship operations.
In an interview with Fourpins earlier this week, Karmaloop owner Greg Selkoe revealed,
"I'm going to be out in L.A talking to investors. But a lot of what I'm doing is going to be running the business. It's not always the easiest way to deal with things. But I've been dealing so much with managing this debt and juggling payables and everything," Selkoe told Four Pins.
Selkoe also added his regret for the delayed orders to customers.
"I feel terrible that there were held orders and delays. I got guarantees from the bank that 100% of the customers who had order issues are going to be taken care of. We're going to make it up to those people who had issues. We've been doing this for 15 years, I hope people won't judge us by one hiccup."
Since then, Dash and So Help Me God rapper, West, have apparently acquired the site. With a hint at "a couple of other cool things," from Dash in the Instagram videos, it will be interesting to see what's next for all parties.
