Natalie Grant recently revealed that the release date of her upcoming album, 'Hurricane,' is set to be October 15. In addition, Grant has also been keeping busy rehearsing for her movie appearance in the upcoming 2014 film, 'Persecuted.'
On July 17, Grant tweeted, "So excited to FINALLY announce the release date for my new record. 'Hurricane' will release OCTOBER 15. Mark your calendars #Hurricane." She also released the cover of the new album through Instagram.
The new album will be released through Curb Records and will feature Grant's current hit single, 'Hurricane,' which was released in June. The single hit No. 1 on iTunes within hours of it's release and saw great success on the Billboard and MediaBase charts as well. It proved to be the fastest rising single that Grant has produced so far throughout her career.
"I've journeyed through a lot over the past three years," Grant said, according to CNBC. "This record is full of my stories and is a reminder that no matter how dark the struggle may seem, I am not alone. And through writing these songs, I've been reminded that hope always wins."
The new album deals with themes of hope, peace and encouragement. It also deals with some of Grant's very real personal experiences, such as her struggles with postpartum depression after giving birth to her third child. Grant's openness about her personal struggles have allowed her to touch her listeners in a very genuine way and communicate her message about faith and its ability to overcome hardship.
"This record is full of music that is positive and bright, both musically and lyrically, which is almost the antitheses to how I have felt for the last few years, but it is the result of hope and faith," Grant said, according to CNBC. "Even when everything seems dark, my faith keeps the light on. I feel these songs help me to tell that truth in a fresh way."
The new album was produced with the help of Grant's husband, Bernie Herms. It follows her very successful album from 2010, 'Love Revolution,' which features popular hits like 'Your Great Name' and 'Alive.'
This year has been an exciting one for Grant with the impending release of her upcoming album, the co-launching of the 'Dare To Be' women's event alongside long-time friend Charlotte Gambill, and visiting the White House as a special guest performer for government leaders such as President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden.
To add to her list of exciting accomplishments, Grant has also recently gotten involved in the filming of a new movie, 'Persecuted,' set to release in 2014. The film is being produced by Gray Frederickson, directed by Daniel Lusko, and Grant will be co-starring alongside James Remar, Bruce Davison, and Fred Thompson. Earlier today, July 19, Grant tweeted, "Rehearsing my lines. I head back to the movie set tomorrow. I've always been a bit of a drama queen, but this is a whole nother level."
