Coachella 2014 sells out in record time, no doubt thanks to Outkast reunion

If you were hoping to go to Coachella 2014, we're sorry. Tickets for the annual music festival in Indio Valley have sold out. If you weren't one of the lucky few that jumped on it as soon as the tickets became available on Friday morning. Otherwise, you were pretty much hung out to dry. All tickets for the three-day event sold out in two hours and 37 minutes after ticket sales went live.

Much of the excitement generated by this year's lineup was aimed at Outkast, the bestselling hip-hop duo of all time, who will be reuniting and possibly playing a healthy of selection of 2003's Speakerboxxx/The Love Below at Coachella. That announcement stole the attention somewhat from a star-studded lineup that includes a reunited The Replacements, Muse, Arcade Fire, The Knife, Queens of The Stone Age and Beck. Basically, a lineup to kill, er, make a snap decision to buy a ticket for.

It should be noted that earlybird Coachella tickets were on sale earlier during 2013, although it's assumed that most wait for the actual lineup to be announced before dropping $350 on a ticket. On the other hand, passes for the festival have traditionally sold quickly, especially during recent years. This year's took the record for quickest sellout, but it was rivaled by 2012's gig, which sold out in 2:57 thanks to a lineup including Radiohead, The Black Keys, and Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg. The 2013 event, which featured a "less popular" lineup we guess (Red Hot Chili Peppers, Phoenix and Blur), needed a whole 21 hours to sell all of its available passes.
