Another Ultra Music Festival is in the books, closed out Jack Ü and Justin Bieber, and many fans are heading home with heavy legs and memories they will cherish for years. As they normally do, the festival leaves the tired attendees with one final gift as they trudge off the grounds: the dates for next year's event. Ultra Music Festival 2016 will take place a little earlier than it usually does, as the three-day electronic music event moves to the third weekend in March. Normally, UMF is the last weekend of March with Miami Music Week leading up to it, but the festival has decided to move the event up a week and do it March 18 to 20.
The announcement comes when Ultra has all of the electronic music world's attention on it and helps to create return customers who are still buzzing from the festival they just attended. It gives those who are good at planning ahead to book their hotels a year in advance to get deals and the best rooms before they are all inevitably gone.
2015 wrapped up last night, and it was filled with highlights and big-time guest appearances. Friday, March 27, saw the likes of Avicii and Alesso premiere new music from their respective albums, while underground kings Carl Cox, Dixon, Maceo Plex and Sasha all performed.
Saturday, March 28, saw Martin Garrix have his "Ultra" moment, packing in an all-Garrix set, premiering his new collaboration alongside Avicii and potentially John Legend, as well as his long-awaited tune "Rewind, Repeat It" with Ed Sheeran. He also brought out Usher, who sang their freshly minted collaboration "Don't Look Down."
There is no further information on tickets, but expect those to become available when the aftermovie is released during the summer.
