Pharrell promised that 2014 would be a big year for his solo work. Following the announcement of his sub-headliner slot at Coachella, he has also secured a slot opening for Bruno Mars on his upcoming North American tour, The Moonshine Jungle.
The tour kicks off May 28 in Oakland, California, and runs through mid-August. Pharrell will appear on select dates in Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, New York City and Los Angeles.
Pharrell is currently working on his new solo album, the follow up to 2006's In My Mind. It is expected to drop sometime this year. In a recent in-depth interview with Complex, he said the record would be rap-free, citing being older, married and a father as reasons why he feels it's time to move away from spitting verses. "I love rapping," Williams told them. "But-something's coming, and I'm not rapping on it. ...It's focused. Like I told you, that's the difference between 30 and 40. 'Cause I was 30, now I'm 40-and I'm not rapping."
