DMX Accused of Robbing Man at New Jersey Gas Station of $3,200

New York rapper DMX is a wanted man after being accused of allegedly robbing a man at a New Jersey gas station for $3,200 in cash. According to the (New York) Daily News, the incident occurred shortly after midnight around 12:30 p.m. at a Newark gas station. A 21-year-old man told cops that the "Party Up (Up in Here)" rapper and his entourage took the money.

According to the man, he recognized DMX in the parking lot and they struck up a conversation about music.

"The two had a brief conversation about rap music, and during the conversation a male in DMX's entourage showed the victim a gun and demanded the victim's money," said Newark Police spokesman Sgt. Ronald Glover in a statement via NJ.com.

The victim said he pulled the $3,200 out of his pocket and DMX "snatched the money out of his hand" before getting into one of the four black Cadillac Escalades his crew were driving.

The alleged victim followed the cars for a while and was able to give a license plate number to the police.

No one has been arrested at this time in what is an ongoing investigation, said police.

DMX was in New Jersey Saturday night, April 4, to perform at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center In Newark as part of the "Masters of Ceremony" concert. He was scheduled to perform alongside other hip-hop legends, like Mobb Deep, Rakim, EPMD, Big Daddy Kane, Slick Rick and Kid Capri.

DMX released his last album, Undisputed, in 2012 and made a brief cameo appearance as a prison inmate in Chris Rock's comedy Top Five. Let's hope that wasn't foreshadowing anything ...
