Marilyn Manson: heading out on tour together
Here are some of the best moments from the chat, which was marked by a fair amount of joking and giggling:
Manson was harassed by a Michael Jackson fan: After being asked to recall remarks by fans that have stuck with them through the years, the shock rocker shared that when he was leaving a movie theater once, wearing a fedora, someone yelled, "Isn't that Michael Jackson?" He also ranted about people commenting on his Bowling for Columbine interview.
"Most often they said "AH thought what you said in Bowling for Columbine was really intelligent. Ah never knew you were so smart!" and my response is always the same: Well, I never knew you were so fucking stupid. Because I don't know you," he said.
Manson likes to go shopping ... online: "Sometimes I like to get drunk and buy things on the internet, and then I wake up the next day and find 'em on my doorstep, and it's like Christmas. I get excited," he said.
Corgan was mistaken as "the kid from The Wonder Years": That rumor switched over to Manson as well at some point.
If they ran for office, Manson would be president: Corgan would settle for vice president, but they would prefer to live in a country where cats run things.
They are fans of each other's work: Manson's favorite Smashing Pumpkins album is 1995's Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness. Corgan actually chose Manson's recent release, The Pale Emperor, because "I think that it shows a depth, and -- let's call it -- a 'third act' that I never doubted was there, but maybe other people did? And he's proven that he's a singular artist, which in my estimation is what makes somebody important."
They are not ruling out a European tour: Just let them have some fun in North America before they plan out the next leg.
