Exactly one month before Miley Cyrus' Bangerz tour is set to start, she held a telephone press conference to divulge some details about the upcoming shows. (Read: some details. Her publicist was on hand to make sure nothing got out of hand.) The first different kind of lure to her tour is free merchandise.
"I'm a little bit of a hoarder. It's my mom's worst nightmare," The Guardian reported Cyrus saying. "I'll have things falling out of the sky that most people would sell at the merch table," Cyrus added. It's clear she's not going to do this tour like 'most people.' She did express she wants her fans to be hoarders like she is.
Cyrus has selected Ren & Stimpy creator John Kricfalusi (John K.) to head up much of the set design, which will reportedly include animal costumes and "crazy props." John K. will be "driving a lot of the tour," Cyrus said.
The show will run at least an hour and a half. The acoustic portion could make things run even longer. Cyrus made it clear her intentions are not to make a profit on the tour. "I made the money I needed to make and now it's about putting money into the tour and making sure my fans get the best show..." she said.
Cyrus also further clarified that anything strange about her tour isn't done as an attention ploy. "Everything that I do, it's not to be different to prove a point...It's just being truly who you are, and what makes you feel good and feel right," she said. Cyrus will wear costumes from Jeremy Scott, Bob Mackie, and Marc Jacobs -- who she shot the pictured ad for.
The tour starts in Vancouver on Valentine's Day and will run for 37 shows worldwide. Cyrus will come full circle landing back in Canada on March 31st.
