Noel Gallagher's 'Chasing Yesterday' is Amazon's Best-Selling Album of 2015 So Far

Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds currently have the bestselling album of 2015 on Amazon, NME notes. Chasing Yesterday, which was released last month, has sold more copies than efforts by Bob Dylan, Madonna and Mark Ronson on the online retailer. It also took the title of fastest-selling album, having done most of its damage in about a month.

Dylan came in at number two with his album of Frank Sinatra covers titled Shadows in the Night. Madonna's Rebel Heart hit number three while Meghan Trainor's Title and Ronson's Uptown Special rounded out the top five. Check out the full list below.

"From Madonna through to Led Zeppelin, 2015 has already seen some high profile album launches," Steve Bernstein of Amazon said. "With the likes of Blur, Muse and Mumford and Sons set to release albums in the coming months we're heading into a great summer for music lovers, competition for 2015's biggest album is only set to intensify."

Chasing Yesterday is Gallagher's second solo effort since Oasis split in 2009. Former Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr contributed to the album, which features singles like "In the Heat of the Moment" and "Ballad of the Mighty I."

"The greater appeal of Chasing Yesterday is in the way Gallagher, 47, now does reflection, loss and persistent optimism, leavening his usual power chords and pub-choir-ready choruses with a dusky, psychedelic churn that exposes the long, hidden thread running from early-Seventies Traffic to the Stone Roses' dazed 1989 shuffle 'Fools Gold,'" Rolling Stone wrote about the album.
