Josh Homme and Jesse Hughs are back to work on a new Eagles of Death Metal album. The duo hasn't released an album together since 2008's Heart On, but according to an interview Homme gave with Australia's The Music, Homme and Hughs have been in the studio working on new material. Hughes also confirmed the project in an interview with Antiquiet (via Consequence of Sound).
Homme told them that they have already recorded about six songs but that the two aren't rushing the project. Instead they are "working at a reasonable, sort of casual pace. We've got wandering and ambling down to a science."
As previously reported, Homme is also starting work soon on a new Queens of the Stone Age album in the fall. He told Rolling Stone that the band will continue moving forward with the momentum gained from ...Like Clockwork. When asked if the band has plans for a new album, he responded, "Absolutely. We have more than enough songs. We're booked til September, but after that we plan to jump in the studio and get going."
