Jessie J's second studio album Alive was released in the UK back in September, but while the British pop star has had decent success in her home country, she's failed to make a huge mark in the US, despite a few hit singles ("Domino," "Price Tag" from her debut effort Who You Are).
Now, however, she's prepping for a comeback stateside with a new version of Alive and is working on music in the studio. Yesterday (Jan. 19), J posted a 15-second teaser video on her Instagram featuring a previously unheard song.
Posted because she was "in a rebellious mood," the unnamed song features a slightly bluesy beat and grooving, sing-song melody that is shockingly infectious.
And, it's known that J can power through any old tune, and that's well demonstrated in this teaser. Her voice absolutely blasts over any backing instrumentation, making her the true star of the show instead of whatever overblown production there may be.
"I wanna get it right / We'll give in if we don't try / And I'm scared I can't deny / But if it ain't enough / We just gonna give up / It ain't easy trying to say it," she sings in the bombastic (presumed) chorus.
