Ke$ha has given fans an update for the first time in 2014. Since entering rehab shortly after the holidays for an eating disorder, Ke$ha has (obviously) been quiet, but today (Jan. 21), she gave an unnamed friend access to her official Twitter account to update her 3.5 million followers on her condition and thank them for the support.
And those rumors that she's quitting music after have been dispelled, as she's rearing to make a comeback for the ages.
"This is Kesha's friend. She asked me to tweet an update for her because she doesn't have access to twitter right now," the three-tweet series began. "She says 'THANK YOU. SOOO MUCH. I'm overwhelmed to tears by all of the love, letters, and support!! I'll be back soon and better than ever.
"ohhh and she can't believe 'Timber' is still number one! 'Fck YEAH animals! PARTY ON!!!!'"
These tweets are the first message from Ke$ha since she began rehab on Jan. 4 for an eating disorder.
"I'm a crusader for being yourself and loving yourself but I've found it hard to practice," she said in a statement. "I'll be unavailable for the next 30 days, seeking treatment for my eating disorder... to learn to love myself again. Exactly as I am."
Since Ke$ha entered rehab, her mother Pebe Sebert has claimed that Ke$ha's producer Dr. Luke (who keeps a notoriously tight rein on her) is the major cause of the eating disorder, after telling he she looked like a "refrigerator" and needed to lose weight through any possible means.
Dr. Luke has denied those claims.
