Curtis Williams of Two-9 Releases 'Zip Skylark' Mixtape Featuring Smoke DZA and Rome Fortune [LISTEN]

Last September, Curtis Williams of Two-9 released his Danco James mixtape and he's following up with his Zip Skylark tape featuring Smoke DZA and Rome Fortune.

As noted by XXL, Zip Skylark is a collection of Williams' previously unreleased and unfinished tracks. He shared a message for fans on his SoundCloud post.

while working on danco james I recorded about 60 songs .. these are a few songs that are mostly super rough drafts , some unfinished . just a way to let yall in my mind for a bit .. thanks for listening rather you like or not <3

my album ALL THIS MAYHEM is in the works right now .

Since the release of Danco James, the Atlanta rhymer has been building quite a buzz for himself and his crew. His last release featured Wiz Khalifa and Project Pat with production from Metro Boomin and Sonny Digital.

Prior to Williams' previous project, Two-9 signed a deal with Mike WiLL Made It's Eardruma imprint under Interscope Records. Earlier this year, Williams spoke on how the group got linked with Mike WiLL and how he has impacted the group's career.

"B. Wright, our manager, knew Mike and introduced us," Williams said. "Mike was just like a fan of us and we are fans of him. And Mike was like, 'Wassup with your boys?' And at the same time we were like, 'What's up with some beats?' And B Wright was like, 'He working on this tape right now, working on a song.' Me and Jace did a song with him and then after that we did some more songs and we started hanging out and becoming homies."

Mike WiLL—a producer from ATL who has worked with Mariah Carey, Rick Ross, Miley Cyrus and Rihanna, among others—spoke highly of Williams and the rap collective.

"There hasn't been a collective of creative coming out of Atlanta like Two-9 since Outkast," he said. "They have great energy, make dope music, and they're always trying to push things forward, not box themselves in. I respect their art, their grind, and their whole movement, and I'm excited to help them take their brand to the next level."
