Tourists and New York City natives alike will be flocking to the latest attraction--a One World Trade Center observatory featuring a historical panoramic view of NYC throughout the years, featuring the fallen Twin Towers.
Beginning May 29, 2015, a 47 second trip will transform the perspective of five average, stuffy elevators into a 3-D time lapse featured on the elevator walls. The swift journey up to 1,268 feet, will span 515 years of the big apple's history-a special history lesson that may bring a few tears and emotional memories to visitors eyes. At 23 miles per hour, the elevators ascend 2,000 feet per minute.

The time lapse begins with scenes from a luscious, green island, as New York City once was in 1500. As it climbs upward, images follow the formation of the city--beginning with smaller stores and churches low to the ground, which turn into larger buildings and eventually skyscrapers, including the Twin Towers for a brief moment until it vanishes. To the right, 1 WTC can be seen along with 2 WTC, where the first observatory existed.
Although some arbitration came with including the Twin Towers, chairman and chief executive of Legends Hospitality, David W. Checketts knew it was not to be snubbed.
"The event is certainly a key part of history," Checketts, told the New York Times. "We did not think you could ignore it. Having it appear in the year it did and disappear in the year it did was the respectful way of addressing the fact that it was part of the landscape."
Instead of bringing visitors back in time on the way down, the panaroma switches into a birds-eye view of lower Manhattan, allowing sightseers to virtually soar over the city and enter through sliding windows, notes Today News.
May 29, 2015 will be the One World Trade Center Observatory opening--tickets are on sale now and cost $32 dollars for adults.
