If you've ever wanted to know what Christina Aguilera sounds like as a country artist, her guest stint on Nashville is already starting to deliver. Today (April 21), one of her two songs from the hit TV show has arrived online, and the powerhouse diva stripped down for the banjo-filled duet "Shotgun."
After debuting "Shotgun" at the 2015 Academy of Country Music Awards alongside Rascall Flatts on Sunday night (April 19), the full version of the song shows a softer side of Aguilera. Through the lens of her character Jade St. John, Aguilera turns her throaty vocals into a twang alongside a male accompaniment, and it's effective as a country single.
