Video has emerged from supposedly Gessafelstein's last live show ever. The French DJ, producer performed the past two weekends at Coachella and in the months leading up to the festival, he declared without elaborating on why, that the two nights were going to be his final 'live' shows. This left fans frantically wondering how they would see the Aleph DJ once again since his live show wasn't coming back to any of their cities any more. Luckily enough, one enterprising fan recorded most of the set on a camera with remarkable recording quality, which is crucial because those who have seen Gessafelstein, real name Mike Levy, live know the bass will blow out any speaker.
All one might expect with a Gessafelstein live show, the lighting is simple and the effects are kept to a minimum as he tries to mimic a darkly lit club. The video quality is solid, but it is rather uneventful to watch, unless you want to watch a Frenchman attempt to smoke the most cigarettes you have ever seen. The fog that is on the stage might be a smoke machine or it could be his own cigarette smoke, it is hard to tell.
He plays some of his greatest hits like "Control Movement," Pursuit" and "OPR." Watch and listen to the video below via Elektro.
Levy has been known to branch out beyond his traditional techno field to collaborate alongside artists like A$AP Rocky and Kanye West. His most recent collaboration takes that to the next level, working with famed French composer Jean-Michel Jarre on a new track "Conquistador." It will appear on Jarre's upcoming album. Both artists explain how the track was made in a short clip below and you can purchase the song on Beatport.
