Katy Perry Perfume 2013: Killer Queen Fragrance Launch, Tribute To Freddy Mercury

Katy Perry is a pro at creating products that combine both her love for music and fashion. After two successful perfume campaigns, Perry has released another fragrance fit for royal taste. Killer Queen is Perry's latest fragrance inspired by her love for former front man of Queen, Freddy Mercury. In collaboration with perfume connoisseur Laurent Le Guernec of International Flavors & Fragrances, Perry created a distinct scent within a very decadent bottle.

The scent opens with wild berry, dark plum and bergamot; developing a velvet flower, jasmine rainbow plumeria heart, before a drydown of cashmeran, patchouli and praline.

"Freddie Mercury painted the lyrics of this woman who I wanted to be. She seemed very powerful, and she captivated a room when she walked in," Perry told WWD. "I feel like, after all this time, it was appropriate to use that name in association with something I did. I feel like I'm falling, finally, into that woman Freddie painted," she added.

Katy Perry shared on Twitter an image of the blush toned and gold plated perfume bottle that reflects the look of a monarch's royal scepter. Just a few hours before the launch of her new perfume, Perry tweeted:

"Just had an elegant unveiling of my new fragrance KILLER QUEEN at the Duke! Can't wait to share the royal juice! #sosophisticated."

The eau de parfum will retail in four sizes: 0.5 oz. ($20), 1 oz. ($39.99), 1.7 oz. ($49.99) and 3.4 oz. ($59.99). Shower gel and body lotion will also be available for $25 each.
