Lana Del Rey fans won't have to wait until her second studio album Ultraviolence is released to hear new material from the "Young & Beautiful" songstress - she's expected to drop a new single tonight (Jan. 26).
According to Idolator, Del Rey has recorded the theme song to the upcoming Disney film Maleficent "Once Upon A Dream" and the haunting track (originally from Sleeping Beauty) will drop right after the 56th Annual Grammy Awards.
Little is known about Del Rey's cover of "Once Upon A Dream." However, to fit with Maleficent's theme of focusing on the villain, many expect the track to take a dark, gloomy turn. Of course, Del Rey is the perfect fit for a subdued, steamy take on the classic Disney anthem.
The new song from Del Rey will precede the singer's second album, due out sometime in 2014.
Of course, this song isn't Del Rey's first from a soundtrack. Last year, she released the critically acclaimed (and Grammy nominated) song "Young & Beautiful" from The Great Gatsby.
