You may have read all over the internet that rap duo Clipse were working on a new album together, especially after a report on KarenCivil.com reported it. Other sites, including this one, later published a statement reportedly released from Pusha T that confirmed the forthcoming album. Now, both Pusha and brother No Malice are flatly denying the existence of such a project.
"There is no Clipse album in the works," No Malice said. "It's not going down. I don't know where the rumor stems from. And I don't know how this keeps coming back up. This isn't the first time. But I would never play with the fans like that and act like something's about to happen and it's not."
No Malice has been the main reason why Clipse hasn't made new music recently, as he underwent a religious experience that turned him off to the group's hustle-based hip-hop. We reported that if Clipse were to reunite, the pair would have to find some agreeable subject matter to address within. Although the brothers still get along just fine, even Pusha T later acknowledged that they weren't going to force a new record, and that the Instagram photos featured on KarenCivil.com (which featured himself working with The Neptunes in the recording studio) were of the work going on with his own solo album.
"I never leaked anything about the Clipse," he said. "I didn't do that. All I did was tell everybody I was in the studio for 20 days with Pharrell and Chad. And then there was a leak that happened and other people just found out that other people were down. But I wouldn't do that. I wouldn't do that. So, right now I'm on my Pusha T right now. I don't wanna mislead nobody, but we just working."
