Chicago's Labor Day music festival, North Coast Music Festival has announced its 2015 lineup. The three-day event will be headlined by The Chemical Brothers, who are heading on tour in support of their upcoming album Born In The Echoes, D'Angelo and The Vanguard, Porter Robinson, Wale, Steve Aoki and others.
Heading into its sixth straight year, North Coast Music Festival has become a staple of the Chicago live music scene normally dominated by Lollapalooza. The festival is known for its variety of different artists coming from various genres like rock, hip-hop and EDM.
Ravers will be happy to see acts like Knife Party, The Glitch Mob, Green Velvet, Kill The Noise, Exmag and Jauz all on the bill, while hip-hop heads should be excited for artists like Atmosphere, Wale, Skizzy Mars and King Chip.
There will be several rock, indie bands jam and funk bands performing over the three days including Portugal. The Man, Gold Panda, The Disco Biscuits, The Roots and Dirty Dozen Brass Band. You may notice on the poster that there is a surprise headliner - that is going to be a rock band, which will be announced on May 12.
The festival will take place over Labor Day Weekend on Sept 4-6 at Union Park in Chicago. The event is 17+. The music does not end each day with the closing of the festival gates, after parties happen throughout the city. The lineups and venues will be announced in coming weeks. Current ticket holders will have the opportunity to buy afterparty tickets before the general public.
