Just as Chicago's Labor Day weekend festival, Northcoast Music Festival announced its lineup yesterday; Seattle's Bumbershoot has unveiled a musical billing of its own. The three-day festival, which runs from Saturday to Monday, instead of the typical Friday to Sunday affair, will host a wide variety of artists from across the world of music. Acts like The Weeknd, Hozier, Zedd, Ellie Goulding, Faith No More and Chance The Rapper will all get headlining slots at Bumbershoot.
In addition to the aforementioned headliners, there is room for fans of all genres. Electronic music enthusiasts will get a small taste of their favorite genre with Flosstradmus, Bassnectar, Keys N Krates, Tchami and Paper Diamond.
There will be an eclectic mix of rock and indie bands from the likes of Brand New, to Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals, Cake, Airborne Toxic Event and others, while also supporting several different R&B and hip-hop artists such as Jhené Aiko, Elle King and others.
There will be a small contingent of country acts represented on the bill, led by Kacey Musgraves.
Entering its 45th year, Bumbershoot is more then just a music festival. It has become a pillar of the Seattle community, boasting a diverse list of activities that go well beyond live music including theater, dance, comedy, film and more. Conveniently named after a colloquial term for an umbrella, a useful item in the very wet Pacific Northwest, Bumbershoot has become of the areas more adored festivals.
It has in the past hosted named like Skrillex, Jane's Addiction, Tony Bennett, Wu-Tang Clan, Foster The People and more.
