Snoop Dogg: Peaches N Cream
Bush is due out May 12 via Columbia Records. Snoop's been hyping the new effort for a while now.
"It's a great record me and Pharrell did from top to bottom. It feels good and I'm happy to be back in the studio working with one of my favorite producers and homeboys," Snoop said in September. "It's different - it's completely different than anything we've ever done. It feels good, sounds good, looks good."
Snoop's new album is a return to rap. His previous LP, Reincarnated, was a reggae record billed under the rapper's alias, Snoop Lion. The album peaked at number 16 on the Billboard 200 chart and received mixed reviews.
"Like Willie Nelson before him, Snoop Dogg finally got so high he made a reggae album," Rolling Stone wrote. "Go ahead, laugh. It really is hilarious to hear him preaching Rastafarian gospel in a fake patois. But here's the thing: For all the easy jokes, Reincarnated is Snoop's most consistently enjoyable record in years."
Snoop's been busy outside of music as well. The rapper appeared on FOX's new hit show, Empire, in February. He also has been supporting his son, Cordell Broadus, who committed to UCLA for football.
"It's been awesome just watching him step into manhood and make a decision that he's comfortable with," Snoop said.
