It takes a big man to take on both Beyoncé and Jay Z, but rapper Future was up to the task. Today (Jan. 29) the "Real and True" emcee dropped a cover of the first Beyoncé single "Drunk In Love," taking on the parts of both Bey and Hova.
With his signature auto tuned rapping/singing style, Future takes Beyoncé's more dedicated, slightly subtler lyrics and turns them upside down. "Sipping on some champagne / F---ing up the bedsprings / Changing up your last name / F---ing in my gold chains," he raps with power. It's an honest and raw look at some rough love and even rougher sex, but hey, that's how some people are "Drunk In Love."
Unlike Beyoncé and Jay Z's original version, which plays on the husband-wife dynamic of a couple with a child who are still "Crazy In Love" a decade later, Future comes at the song from a newly engaged standpoint, which makes sense as he's about to tie the knot with Ciara.
