St. Vincent releases video for 'Digital Witness' off upcoming self-titled LP [WATCH]

St. Vincent has released the video for her single "Digital Witness," and its pretty clear that David Byrne rubbed off on Annie Clark a bit during their time touring together, adding to her already quirky character.

The Chino Moya-directed video shows Clark looking like she could have a paranoid breakdown at any time within the dystopian-looking world she's created. She contrasts herself against stark colors and shapes with everyone around her moving eerily in unison. The crazy gray hair from her cover art is featured as well.

"Digital Witness" is the lead single off her forthcoming self-titled LP, the follow up to 2011's Strange Mercy. The 11-song effort hits stores February 25 via her new label Loma Vista/Republic Records. Clark recorded the new album in Dallas with Dap-Kings drummer Homer Steinweiss and Midlake percussionist McKenzie Smith. John Congleton (Modest Mouse, the Mountain Goats), who has previously helmed St. Vincent's Actor and Strange Mercy, produced the album. "I knew the groove needed to be paramount," she said in the statement. "I wanted to make a party record you could play a funeral."

St. Vincent will embark on an extensive 2014 North American tour next month in support of the upcoming effort. Check out the video for "Digital Witness" here, and see if Clark is headed to a city near you. Let us know what you think in the comments section below!
