It's almost time for summer and Nicki Minaj wants to remind you that "The Night Is Still Young." Yesterday (May 13), the "Only" rapper revealed that the poppy "Superbass" reminiscent track will be her next single from her new album The Pinkprint and teased some scenes and outfit snapshots from the forthcoming music video on her Instagram.
Minaj rolled out information about "The Night Is Still Young" in a series of four posts on her Instagram, mixing together video shots with pictures.
The plot of the music video seems to take on a "we own the night" feeling, with glamorous shots of New York City fly by in the background, with young revelers flying by on skateboards and on foot.
As far as Minaj goes, she seems to enlist a Gwen Stefani-like pack of Harajuku girls as her backup dancers on the streets of the city. As for Minaj, she recalls her Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded Days by once again donning a light pink wig. She's dressed in a peach short dress with strategically placed gems hiding her lady bits.
A release date for the music video has yet to be revealed, with Minaj just teasing that it will arrive "soon." Seems like she's aiming for a big summer hit...
"The Night Is Still Young" will be the sixth official single from Minaj's 2014 album The Pinkprint but only her fourth music video. She previously released visuals for "Pills N Potions," "Anaconda' and "Only." "Bed of Lies" and "Truffle Butter" were also sent to radio.
