Los Angeles-based electronic music group The Glitch Mob have released a short documentary on their new live set up, named "The Blade." The concept for it was conceived after the trio of Ooah, Boreta and ediT finished writing their sophomore artist album Love Death Immortality and were looking for a new way to present it to the world. They have always done things differently -- combining live elements with state-of-the-art technology and this new live set up is no different.
The documentary covers all of the bases for how The Blade was built from its first idea with the writing of the album, to taking it on the road. The mini-doc shows just how much detail went into every step of the process from the designing, to the programming to the musical aspects of the set up that are unlike any other in electronic music.
"We want to play electronic music with the same feel and drama of live rock," says The Glitch Mob in a statement. It's always been our goal to break down the wall around electronic music performance and create something more engaging than staring at a laptop."
The group is heading out on tour this summer, hitting cities around the United States and festivals like Hard Summer and Northcoast.
