Phantogram releases new song called 'Bill Murray' off upcoming album, 'Voices' [LISTEN]

Phantogram has released its latest single, the highly anticipated (at least for us) "Bill Murray," off their upcoming LP, Voices. In an interview with The Atlantic, keyboardist Josh Carter explained why they named the song after the iconic actor. "We named it Bill Murray because we always pictured a sad Bill Murray for the visuals of that song," he told them. "We want him to be in the music video."

The track features Sarah Barthel's signature breathy vocals over breezy guitars and vibrant synths. It has a more melancholy feel that the previous tracks we've heard off the upcoming effort, but that sort of makes sense with them having Bill Murray on the mind while writing.

The electro-pop duo previously released the singles "Nothing But Trouble" and "Fall In Love" as well as a music video for the track "Black Out Days." Back in the fall, they dropped a self-titled four-track EP, which contains songs that will be featured on the full length. Voices was recorded in Los Angeles with co-producer John Hill (Santigold, M.I.A.) and is first proper follow up to 2010's Eyelid Movies. It is due out February 18 via Republic.
