Electric Zoo 2015 Lineup Phase 1: Alesso, Above & Beyond, Chemical Brothers

New York's first major EDM festival, Electric Zoo has announced the first wave of acts that will be heading to Randall's Island this year. E Zoo has been slowly unveiling the names a few at a time each day over the past few weeks, just like its fellow SFX festival Tomorrowland and TomorrowWorld do. ID&T, the promoters of Tomorrowland and TomorrowWorld, were brought in to add their creative expertise for this year and reimagine the festival, so that makes sense. Among those who are on the first phase of artists include headliners, The Chemical Brothers, Above & Beyond and Alesso.

In addition to the first wave of artists, E Zoo has unveiled four of the stage curators this year. Gone are Dim Mak and Fools Gold, who have been staples in the Riverside tent over the past several years, and instead fans will see several more underground leaning stages with Sunday School returning, Dutch techno live event brand Awakenings, Pete Tong bringing his own live event series All Gone Pete Tong and tropical house founder Thomas Jack getting his own stage. According to Dancing Astronaut, there will be a live stage one of the days.

The festival will have a bit of something for everyone with artists across genres like The Glitch Mob, Madeon, Hot Since 82, Adam Beyer, Dirty South, Cashmere Cat and Get Real (Claude VonStroke & Green Velvet) all performing.

Taking place over Labor Day Weekend in September, the three-day event hopes to avoid the unfortunate circumstances that befell it over the past two years. The past two years have seen the third day canceled -- 2013 due to fatal drug overdoses each of the first two days and then 2014 because of a massive thunderstorm, which forced the festival to evacuate attendees and eventually cancel.

Electric Zoo 2015 will take place over Labor Day Weekend from Sept 4-6.
